Beijing bicycle sales boom amid COVID restrictions as cycling grows more and more into healthy hobby

Beijing's bike culture is rolling ahead lately, more than just a commuting tool, but more importantly, as a way to stay fit during COVID-19 restrictions.

For bike retailers, meanwhile, business has been good, if not slightly overwhelming.

The manager of a shop in Beijing says orders for bespoke bikes with personalized colors and sizes are on back order for about six months.

And still another shop manager says orders have been booked straight through to 2024.
